The house is located in the Kamnik Alps at around 3000feet above sea level in a peaceful location with a stunning view over the valley below. It has three bedrooms, the master bedroom has its own south facing balcony, a bathroom with shower, a shower room,a modern fitted kitchen, a living dining room (with an enormous south facing balcony suitable for sunbathing and alfresco living) and a utility drying room. The house enjoys central heating and satellite television. In winter the house is extremely cosy, in summer it is remarkably cool. The house is set in over an acre of garden which is visited frequently by deer and other small animals
Studenca is a small hamlet about 6 kilometres from the Slovenian City of Kamnik (actually although its called a city it is smaller than most towns in Britain). Kamnik is a preserved medieval settlement with three castles and a traffic free paved shopping street. It is about 9km from Slovenia's main airport and about 18 kilometres from the capital Ljubljana itself. Kamnik is served by a railway which runs every hour Monday to Friday into Ljubljana's main station. It has all the facilities you would expect including shops, supermarkets, an open air swimming pool (summer) and even an arts centre. You can enjoy a pleasant drink at many of the pavement cafes (such as the world famous Cafe Veronica) looking up at the mountains all around.
Flights to Ljubljana (Brnik) leave Stansted daily and Gatwick daily. In summer there are also flights from Manchester twice a week. There are also flights from London Stansted to Klagenfurt (Austria) three days a week, to Trieste (Italy) every day and Maribor (Eastern Slovenia) three days a week. Cheapest flights are with easyjet (www.easyjet.com) or ryanair(www.ryanair.com) and if you book sufficiently far in advance you can obtain a return flight from as little as £50 including taxes. You can hire a car at the airport but it is cheaper to pre-book on line with all the main companies.
The journey by road is about 1,000 miles from the channel ports or terminal. The cheapest and quickest way is via Harwich- Hoek Van Holland (Stena Line on www.stenaline.co.uk) then via road through Holland, Germany, Austria and Slovenia. The only tolls payable are in Austria and Slovenia.
By rail to Ljubljana go via Eurostar from London St. Pancras to Paris Nord, Paris Lyon to Venice (sleeper overnight) and Venice to Ljubljana (three trains daily).
